The Imperial Yellow Topaz

Saint Hildegarde poetically describes her formation: “Topaz is formed at about the ninth hour of the day, in the full heat of the sun: under the effect of the heat of the day and the blowing air, it is very pure; it is clear and this clarity makes it look like water”. (Physica ch VIII)

Saint Hildegarde gives topaz several uses and as many different properties. Before choosing the stone it is therefore important to determine its use. For topaz wine, the polished stone should be chosen instead. For the direct application, which is especially useful when one wants to praise God, the pendant is very suitable.

St. Hildegard also states that topaz can be used to detect poison.
