The Chrysoprase

Saint Hildegarde poetically describes its formation: “the chrysoprase is formed at the time when the sun has completely hidden itself: at that moment, the air and water are more turbid and have a green colour”. (Physica ch XIII)

Saint Hildegarde grants many different virtues to the chrysoprase, which correspond to different uses. It is often a matter of bringing the stone into direct contact with the skin or keeping it close to the skin, so all stones are suitable. But to soothe anger, it is advisable to keep a chrysoprase on the neck, so a necklace or pendant seems particularly suitable.
