The Amethyst

Saint Hildegarde poetically describes her formation: “The amethyst develops when the sun presents a disc that is crowned, as it were. This happens often and that is why these stones are numerous.” (Physica ch XV)

The various uses and virtues of amethyst mentioned by Saint Hildegarde are obtained with the stone placed directly on the skin, or slightly moistened. Among other things, amethyst can be useful for a beautiful complexion or against stings.
